Mai Tai’s Waikiki Celebrates Grand Opening at Aqua Palms Waikiki

Before doors opened to the public, Kumu Kamanaʻopono presided over a traditional Hawaiian blessing, welcoming the new space with gratitude, aloha and a spirit of community. The intimate ceremony brought together the Mai Tai’s ʻohana, team members and supporters to mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the brand.

Located at 1850 Ala Moana Blvd., between Aqua Palms Hotel and IHOP, Mai Tai’s Waikiki offers a casual and cozy place for locals, visitors and hotel guests to relax, enjoy their favorite beverages, savor ʻono pūpū and spend time with family and friends. The new location also features big-screen TVs, making it an easy Waikiki spot to catch favorite games and sporting events.

“Mai Tai’s Waikiki was created to be an easygoing gathering place in the heart of Waikiki,” said Norman Warren, Mai Tai’s General Manager. “We’re excited to offer locals, visitors and hotel guests a comfortable spot to relax, enjoy great drinks and ʻono pūpū, catch the game, and experience the kind of aloha hospitality that makes people feel right at home.”

The first official customer at Mai Tai’s Waikiki was Chris Kapono, known on Instagram as @haveyoutried_stuff, who helped kick off the opening day celebration. Mai Tai’s extended its heartfelt gratitude to the team members who helped bring the new location to life.
