A self-taught loctician, Harris sharpened her braiding skills by working on her basketball teammates’ hair. She gradually expanded her repertoire by teaching herself how to do soft locs.

“I really love doing hair,” Harris said. “I’m a girls’ girl, and when I’m doing someone’s hair, there’s an undeniable social aspect involved. The bonding that takes place when I’m working on a client is truly remarkable.”
